Considering going to college in Southern California and I live in Arizona. Pro's and con's of living in Cali

Considering going to college in Southern California and I live in Arizona. Pro's and con's of living in Cali?
I have always wanted to live in California, I feel that it is the right environment for me. I like the laid back atmosphere, the ocean, and the overall attitude. However I am a conservative individual and I know that Cal is a very liberal state. I am worried about the cost of living as a college student as well. Someone help me out if you are like me or if you live there?!

Hey. not all of us are liberal. ;) hehe but yea plenty of Californians are. =p cost of living is probably more expensive compared to AZ, just cuz it is CA (pretty much anywhere you are in the state, esp. near the coast tho), but at least you get paid a lil more to compensate. However with the state budget as it is (well, all the states are bad, but CA especially!!! especially if your budget has to do with anyone who works in any way for the state =/ ) it might be a lil more difficult on your pocketbook. If you do move to CA, just be prepared to tighten your belt a lil bit & cut a few more corners. But at least, like you might have heard, the beach is cooler than the rest of the state (especially the valley!! agh it's muggy) ;) & much cooler than AZ. & California is beautiful!! =)
