Answer 1 :
NAU in flagstaff if you enjoy snow, UA (where I'm going) in Tucson is pretty good.
Answer 2 :
UofA has the best reputation.
Answer 3 :
It is true that NAU is a very good small University (and Flagstaff a great town). And when judging the reputations of the universities overall, U of A in Tucson does rank the highest of the state schools. However... you are asking about a specific degree - History - and that comes down to the size, faculty and reputation of the history department specifically. In this regard, Arizona State University (ASU) has the topped ranked history department by far. The focus of NAU is forestry and hotel/motel management. It does have a small history department with some very good teachers (Amundson and Wallace come to mind). U of A has a leading archaeology program and also a small history department with some well known historians(Morrissey), but neither of these schools are really known as 'history' schools specifically. ASU on the other hand, has one of the top-ranked Western History departments in the country and its Public History Program (history for museums/parks, etc) is considered by many to be THE BEST in the country with one of the highest graduate placement rates. The recent head of the ASU history department, Peter Iverson, is a nationally recognized (and award winning) expert on Native American History. Other well-known ASU historians include Robert Trennert, James McBride and Bradford Luckingham.

Which is the better school Arizona State University or Evergreen state college

Which is the better school Arizona State University or Evergreen state college?
For a degree in the visual arts which is the better place to go? ASU's Herberger institute in Tempe, Arizona? Or Evergreen state college in Olympia, Washington? Any opinions on these college's visual arts programs or the colleges themselves would be much appreciated!!!

Answer 1 :
Evergreen State has a reputation of being one of the most unstructured colleges in the nation in terms of course requirements, etc.
Answer 2 :
ASU is much better overall, but many wouldn't like the desert area. Still, it's a better choice than evergreen. Your sure to get a better visual arts program at ASU

Please Help! Can i get into a Community College in Arizona with only two years of Math?
I'm in high school right now and im wondering if i only need to take two years of math ( that's my high schools requirement to graduate) to get into a profession like Accounting, a Hygienist, or a Registered nurse. I'm thinking about applying to South Mountain Community College. ~ any advice would help, thanks

Answer 1 :
your doomed
Answer 2 :
You can get into Community college as long as you graduate. The courses you took or didn't take don't play a role in admissions, since they take anyone if they have the room. However, you will not get the careers you listed above from a community college since you can only get a 2 year degree from a community college. You will need to transfer to a four year university to finish your studies.
Answer 3 :
Both of these people have no clue what they are talking about. You can get into a community college with your high school diploma or ged. It does not matter what courses you took in high school for community college admission. Although your high school may offer some courses that are dual enrollment (both high school and college credit) You can get your 2 year (associates degree) from most community colleges for professions like registered nurse or dental hygienist. You could transfer to a 4 year university and get a bachelor's degree if you so choose.

How likely am I to get into a UC school by transferring from an Arizona community college

How likely am I to get into a UC school by transferring from an Arizona community college ?
I'm graduating a year early and one of my options is to do a year at an AZ junior college. I'm a very strong student. What are my odds of getting in if I take that route? I'm thinking of going pre-med and am leaning towards Riverside as I'd probably be more likely to get accepted.(and I like the school)

No one can really tell you that, I am sure you know that UC's accept mostly in-state students. As long as you keep your grades up (3.5 and up) and show a fairly challenging courseload I dont see what would be stopping you. Also, SAT scores might be needed for a transfer so hopefully you did fairly well on those (1850 +) Good luck!
