How long do I have to live in Arizona before I can go to college as a resident?
My aunt lives in Phoenix, I was going to go live with her and go to ASU for a Music Theory Major, I am from Oregon and it would be more expensive to go to college out of state. Pulse most of the scholarships are for Arizona residence. How long do I have to be in Arizona before I'm "official"? lol! Thank you!! :)

Answer 1 :
One year, declare yourself independent, get a job, register to vote, register your car if applicable.

You would have to find out an official answer from someone at the college or in the state office of education. Most likely, just living with your aunt won't qualify you as a resident. You would need to do all the things a person does to become an actual resident: register your car, register to vote, pay state taxes, work in the state, etc. Often becoming a resident for the purpose of getting in-state tuition is one year, but this can vary. State colleges are meant to serve residents of that state, which is why tuition is lower and scholarships would favor them. The same would apply to you, in Oregon, as a citizen of Oregon.
